Essential: 

• Good academic background 
• Core Java, web sphere server, Eclipse IDE, knowledge of LINUX OS, Oracle database (SQL/PL/SQL). 
• Good knowledge of J2EE, Servlets, JSP, Struts 2.0, spring, web services 
• Good XML, XSLT knowledge 
• Good Design skills where there are multiple platform/technologies involved. 
• Good communication skillsDesirable: 
Worked on IBM RSA Eclipse IDE 
Used clear case tool 
Knowledge of Hibernate
