We are seeking a Java developer to join our development team, driving the development and maintenance of our on-line journal, magazine and web 2.0 applications using the latest Java toolset, following an agile approach. 


The onsite component is likely to be anything from 2-6 months. One of the positions might also involve being an onsite coordinator. 


The ideal candidate will have excellent software development skills as well as the ability thrive in an environment which requires multi-tasking, flexibility and the ability to work both individually and in a small, highly motivated 


team. The candidate will have a strong knowledge of domain driven design, design patterns, test driven development, continuous integration techniques and understanding of the full project life cycle. The candidate should 


also show a willingness to consider non-java JVM technologies. The Java developer must able to communicate effectively and clearly with the business. 


Applicants should have an in depth knowledge and ability to apply specific technologies in. There is no need for all the skills to be present in one person, so we can look at a team with good mix if they cover all the skills 


mentioned therein. 


•Software design and software development best practice with experience of the agile approach including test-driven development, continuous integration and automated testing 
•JRuby 
•Java software development with Tiles, Spring, Hibernate, JAXB, JMS and JSP 
•JavaScript (with knowledge of jQuery), XHTML, XML, RSS and CSS. 
•Oracle databases, Internet/World Wide Web and Web Services 
•MarkLogic 
Web 2.0 development including blogs, wikis, social book marking and social networking Knowledge of Perl would be an advantage.
