JOB DESCRIPTION; 
Role Summary/Purpose 
The Software Engineer is part of the Medplexus product group. MedPlexus products include physician practice management, Electronic Health Record Solutions, ePrescription, and a patient self-service portal, which are 


deployed as integrated or individual products in a SaaS/ASP or a local/onsite solution.This position is for a software engineer to perform the design, development and maintenance of SaaS based MedPlexus POMS 


application. 


Essential Responsibilities 
Duties include (but are not limited to): 
Deliver complex software components on schedule. 
Provide guidance and direction throughout the development of MedPlexus J2EE standards, policies and best practices. 
Provide guidance and recommendations on development methodologies and frameworks for projects as well as Java and J2EE technologies. 
Work with Product Managers and Engineering to document, develop and refine our platform architecture. 
Assist in implementing solutions that integrate the MedPlexus systems with third-party utilities and applications. 
Perform technology/tools evaluation and software technical proof of concepts. 
Design and develop optimized and reliable code as per the specifications. 
Coordinate and communicate effectively with engineers and QA. 
Maintain and enhance existing frameworks and high software standards. 
Establish J2EE application architecture practice within the development team. 
Leading the evolution of our J2EE application architecture. 


Quality Specific Goals: 
* Aware of and comply with the MedPlexus/GE Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 
* Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 
* Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 
* Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables 
* Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible 


Qualifications/Requirements 
BE/B Tech/ME/M Tech/MCA/(M Sc Computers) – with the knowledge in computer fundamentals (DataStructures, RDBMS, OS, Progamming languages, SoftwareEnigineering and networking). 
Out of total 6+ years of Experience a minimum 4 years experience recently in Java, J2ee (Servlets, JDBC, EJB), XML, SQL. 
OOAD and Design patterns. 
Self motivated, proactive, problem solving and interpersonal skills with min 1 year team lead experience 
Application servers (Weblogic, JBOSS, TOMCAT), Data base (SQL Server 2000/2005, MY SQL, MS-Access). 
Experience in SDLC, project management methodology, test methodology, etc. 


Desired Characteristics 
Experience in Product Development. 
Exp/knowledge in Healthcare domain. 
Experience in Swings. 
Quality process implementation experience. 
Interviewing skills 
People performance Management 
Experience on Case tools (Ex : JProfiler, JProbe,SQL Profiler, Unit). 
Hands on product Performance tuning
